ANTINT, Integrated Anthropology

Antropologia integrata

The project

“ANTINT” is integrated Anthropology, the project that aims at a series of integrated research interventions on the collections of the Museum of Anthropology and Ethnology of the Museum System of the University of Florence, through the elimination of disciplinary barriers between anthropology and ethnology.

Research assistants with the ANTINT project are Giulia Dioniso and Tommaso Mori, who present their research activity in the video.

In the words of Jacopo Moggi, Professor of the Department of Biology of the University of Florence, scientific director of the project: “(...) if we want to study human populations in their complexity, diversity, it is good that the study of these populations is approached by combining the study of biological characteristics with the study of cultural characteristics.” According to Francesca Bigoni, curator of the collections of the Museum of Anthropology and Ethnology, ANTINT represented “(...) an opportunity to bring to the Museum System of the University experiences that I have had in recent years thanks to an international project organized by Japanese colleagues, in which experts of various aspects of anthropological disciplines confronted each other by combining different fields of study relevant to anthropology and ethnology.”
