The Botanical Garden of Florence is an open-air museum that hosts living botanical collections.
Observing a few rules ensures an enjoyable visit for everyone and, at the same time, contributes to the preservation of our botanical heritage.
- Plants are our living heritage. You can observe them, even up close. No dot damage o remove them in any way. Respecting them means respect the work of those who care for them every day. Furthermore, some plants grown in the Botanic Garden are toxic or poisonous: to avoid unpleasant events for everyone, do not ingest any plant material.
- Pets are welcome. We ask owners to keep their dogs on a leash, to pick up their droppings and to use the bins.
- Smoking inside the Botanic Garden is not appreciated but is permitted next to the ashtrays (there are two of them).
- We encourage sustainable mobility and the use of bicycles to reach the Botanic Garden. If you arrive by bicycle, we ask that you to use the bike rack on the road or the one located near the entrance.
- The Botanical Garden is also a historical garden. Respect the context, avoiding all actions that could damage the garden such as throwing stones into the ponds or onto the lawns, moving pots or furniture, and leaving rubbish outside the bins.
- For a better visiting experience, leave backpacks and other bulky objects in the lockers at the entrance. For the storage of suitcases or other bulky materials, please ask at the ticket office.
- We encourage the circular economy and recycling: at the entrance there are bins for separate waste collection (paper, glass, plastic and cans, organic waste) and a container for recovering corks (e.g. wine stoppers) for recycling.
- The Botanical Garden is used and lived by many different people: do not interfere with the maintenance, dissemination and research activities underway and do not move work tools from their original position.
- Please remember that adults are responsible for the safety of children and for their behaviour. Visit on your own is possibile for kids over 12 years old.
- Photos and filming for personal use are welcome, also for sharing on social channels, inserting the tag #sistemamusealeateneofirenze. We remind everyone to respect the privacy of other visitors.
- The Botanic Garden is a place that values silence and peace: we ask that you keep your tone of voice low, for a happier experience for everyone, including wildlife.
- We remind you that it is forbidden to behave in a threatening, discriminatory or inappropriate manner towards anyone and to use the Botanic Garden for propaganda or commercial activities.
