The collection currently counts more than 130 specimen belonging to 65 species.
Established since the end of the 19th century, it has been enriched with plants taken from the wild during research expeditions in Central and South America, carried out in the 1970s. In recent years, new acquisitions were made thanks to private donors and exchanges with Italian botanical gardens. There are still some specimen of ancient introductions, dating back to the end of the 19th century such as Maxillaria densa and Vanda tricolor.
The collection, grown in pots or on cork supports, is housed in a dedicated greenhouse.
